Surplus and
excess foods such as produce, deli items, dairy products, meats and
baked goods are donated by area grocers, restaurants, caterers, growers
and individuals.
 With the help of
volunteers, Food Link organizes and facilitates the collection of these
products to distribute to recipient agencies and directly to those who
are in need.
Homeless shelters, soup kitchens, foster care group homes,
emergency food pantries, treatment and rehabilitation centers, public
housing sites, battered women's shelters, and senior citizen
facilities are served
or delivered the food where and when it is needed.
A wide variety of
people ultimately benefit from our services: the newly unemployed, young
and single parent families, battered women, the elderly, mentally ill,
disabled, the working poor and children.
